The RISE Program is a core youth development initiative of Rahma Community & Youth Centre designed to support youth and young adults in building confidence, leadership, and pathways to success.
RISE serves youth—particularly newcomer, black, racialized, and underserved youth who may face barriers related to education, employment, mental health, or social inclusion. The program provides a safe, culturally responsive environment where participants are supported to grow personally, academically, and socially.
What RISE offers
Mentorship & Leadership Development
Youth are paired with mentors and facilitators who support goal setting, confidence-building, and positive identity development.
Mental Health & Wellness Supports
Trauma-informed and culturally grounded workshops and peer circles promote emotional well-being and resilience.
Education & Career Readiness
Academic support, life-skills training, and career exploration help youth prepare for school, training, and employment pathways.
Youth Voice & Civic Engagement
Creative projects such as storytelling, podcasting, and community initiatives empower youth to share their voices and lead positive change.

Yesterday`s youth halaqa at the Rahma Community Centre was a vibrant blend of fun, sport, learning, and food. The event kicked off with engaging sports activities, where the youth enjoyed games and team sports, fostering teamwork and physical fitness.
The learning segment featured an interactive session, where participants explored various topics, deepening their understanding and connection to their faith. Enthusiastic discussions and insightful reflections made this part both educational and inspiring.
Following the learning activities, everyone gathered for a delicious meal. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and conversation, as the youth bonded over shared experiences and new friendships.
Overall, the halaqa was a wonderful mix of activities that nurtured the mind, body, and soul, leaving everyone looking forward to the next gathering.
